Strengthening Small Businesses in emerging countries - Stories of IFC SME Toolkit

Small businesses are the growth engine of the world’s economies. In the European economy, right now they account for more than two-thirds of the workforce and more than half of the economic value added. However, their success rate is not as good as it could be due to a lack of access to good business management practices.

The need to solve this problem is especially relevant in a context in which we are facing a global pandemic and a large amount of small business have been forced to close or are struggling to continue in the labour market.

The SME Toolkit, designed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in collaboration with GlobalCAD, provided small businesses with the new information technologies and collaboration they need to contribute to the successful growth and prosperity of their businesses.

This video is very valid today to understand the relevance of SME for economic recovery.
