UNDP Bahrain has awarded CAD the assignment Development of SDGs Courses within the University of Bahrain PhD Programme.
In this context, CAD will collaborate with UNDP Bahrain and the University of Bahrain to support them in the development of a four-month course on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The objective is to get the students enrolled in the university’s Environmental and Sustainable Development PhD programme acquainted with the SDGs and provide them with a deeper understanding of the 2030 Agenda.
The course Implementing the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda: An environmental approach will have a focus on the environmental dimension of the SDGs and will cover topics as the Historical Background of SDGs, the policies of implementation and creation of an enabling ecosystem for the SDGs and success stories and lessons learned from the implementation of the SDGs.
As part of the assignment, the team will design and develop the content of the course, as well as a manual for the teachers and facilitators. In addition, GlobalCAD’s team will provide capacity building to the teachers in charge of the course facilitation as well as to the project’s focal points from UNDP Bahrain and the UoB with the aim of guiding them through the use of the manual for teachers.

The PhD programme in Environmental Sustainable Development (ESD) of the University equips students with diverse knowledge and perspectives to answer important concerns about environmental problems facing inhabitants of planet Earth. The program’s curriculum emphasizes on United Nation Sustainable Development Goals 2030 with emphasis on Environmental issues.
GlobalCAD has extensive experience working in the field of the development goals (MDGs and SDGs) and it has been particularly engaged through the years in their implementation at the national and international level. GlobalCAD acknowledges the importance of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to strengthen the social, economic and environmental dimensions of global human development.
