The project Towards the Human City will be presented in the framework of the fifth edition of DOCfield Barcelona. Its founders, Fernando Casado and Paula García, will address the relationship between the individual and participatory social transformation, based on the identification and documentation of 101 initiatives focused on building more human cities.
This year, the documentary photography festival of Barcelona will focus on human mobility and raise questions about the different forms of travel. It welcomes for the first time the DOCfield PRO Seminar “Prescribers and Audiences. Success stories that inspire change”, to be held next 21st October at the Contemporary Culture Center of Barcelona (CCCB). The seminar will bring together several projects, organizations, groups and people who have connected with their audience through innovative strategies.
Towards the Human City identifies, documents and highlight initiatives from more than 45 cities that contribute to a more human and inclusive concept and management of cities. To this end, it develops a database of case studies in order to share knowledge and encourage the multiplication of successful experiences; films stories about how cities are addressing social challenges and proposes tools for city management that include methodologies and systems of monitoring and evaluation.
In addition to Towards the Human City, the program of the event hosts the cases of the video platform Playground, and the adaptation of The New York Times to the digital environment.
