2016 has been a successful year for CAD, filled with interesting new projects and fruitful collaborations. We worked together with various stakeholders in all of our five key areas and we are pleased to say that this year again we had the opportunity to work in Asia, South America, Africa and Europe. Let us give you a glimpse of the projects we proudly developed and implemented during 2016.
In the sector of Green Growth & Climate change, we supported the INECC on behalf of UNDP Mexico in the development of an indicator system, which guides the monitoring and evaluation of the Mexican climate change policy. In the Inclusive Business and SMEs area, together with The Inclusive Business Action Network (IBAN) and the John D. Gerhart Center of AUC, we published a new Practitioners Guide for Inclusive Business in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector on how to develop Inclusive Business Models in this industry. Our Cross Sector Partnerships area was also successful since we continued to work with W.K. Kellogg Foundation on a capacity building program on Leadership and Management of Transformative Partnerships to support five partnerships (formed of 30 entities) from Chiapas and Yucatán in Mexico. Our Evaluation & Women Empowerment experts conducted the final evaluation of the UN Women “Knowledge Gateway on Women’s Economic Empowerment” project publicly known as Empower Women to assess the relevance, results and potential impact of the platform. With CAD Productions, we went to several Sub-Saharan countries to document the World Bank REDD+ project and film the stories of people fighting against deforestation and climate change. These are just a few examples of projects we developed during 2016. To have a look at all of them check our “Projects” section.
Furthermore, 2016 was also an important year for CAD since we developed and implemented our own innovative projects based on the belief that bringing people together is essential to achieve more inclusive and sustainable societies. Among others, we published our first magazine “180º DEGREES” on development issues and international cooperation for which we had the chance to collaborate with various international and local experts. In that same line, we conducted in December our first course on Partnerships for Development with The Partnering Initiative and The Barcelona Peace Center. The course brought together development practitioners who share the willingness to develop strong partnerships to better work together and following its success we are planning more sessions for the years to come.
In 2017, we will continue to generate knowledge and innovative solutions with those who want to create social impact. It is a very particular year for us since we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary with you around various interactive events throughout the year. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us in order to work together for a more sustainable and inclusive world. We are always looking to work jointly with partners to develop new projects and products for more inclusive and sustainable societies!
