CAD Productions, the production company of the Center of Partnership for Development (CAD), is pleased to announce that 4 of its most recent productions have been screened at COP 22, on 7 and 18 November in Marrakech.
COP 22 is the 22nd session of the “Conference of the Parties” (COP), which was established to guide the efforts of countries to act against climate change. The CoP is the supreme decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Through the UNFCCC, the UN has adopted a framework of action to fight global warming.
Three of the videos presented at the conference belong to the documentary series we are doing for the World Bank, about the REDD + program in different African countries. REDD + is a global program under the UNFCCC that aims to create financial incentives for developing countries to enhance their role in the conservation and sustainable management of forests. The objective of this documentary series is to raise awareness about the positive results, the human dimension, and the economic, ecological, social and governmental improvements resulting from these efforts. The common narrative of these documentaries is to support and highlight the contribution of countries that make climate change mitigation a reality through their initiatives. The videos show success stories that implement activities to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation.
The fourth piece screened, was produced for Cities Alliance, which seeks to support cities in their efforts to become more resilient. The video addresses a multi-year Joint Work Program that has been established to promote resilient cities. It brings together members and partners to promote local resilience strategies through inclusive long-term urban planning processes.
We will continue to participate actively in the fight against climate change through images, as this is our legacy. We will continue to give voice to those people who dedicate their lives to the conservation of the environment and try to prevent global warming from continuing to harm our planet.
