Summary of the book:
The Editorial Complutense published the book “Inclusive business and employment in the base of the pyramid”, which has been coordinated by Helena Ancos, director of the CSR Working Programme of the Complutense Institute of International Studies. The book presents the inclusive business as a new opportunity for business, sustainable development, change and social integration.
Inclusive businesses are identified with new business models and innovative ventures, that without losing sight of the objective of economic profitability, target the most vulnerable sectors of society -the Base of the Pyramid- either through the offer of innovative products and services that foster the increase of their quality of life, or by joining the production chain, favoring the inclusion of autonomous workers, immigrants, women and disadvantaged labor market groups.
The book analyses issues such as the mobilization of social capital in these sectors of the population, the role of public administrations and social entrepreneurs as economic and social development drivers; also innovation analysis, organizational change and the business model on entry strategies in low-income markets; and the social development impact assessment tools.
Coordinated by Helena Ancos, director of the CSR Working Programme of the Complutense Institute of International Studies, this study includes the collaboration of leading academics from different universities of the world and specialists that provided a comprehensive theoretical vision and also successful experiences implemented in Latin America, Asia and Spain.
