With the aim of promoting cultural relations and cooperation between Spain and Latin America, as well as learning about the results of the work of companies in CSR, the Fundación Carolina, an institution created by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2000, developed the document ‘CSR of Spanish companies in Latin America. A look at Fundación Carolina’.

Starting with a presentation of the current situation of CSR in Latin America, the paper discusses in detail the specific role that Spanish companies have in the region and how Latin Americans see Spanish companies and their management. The issue of how companies of the Carolina Foundation treat CSR has a special mention and to conclude, some recommendations are raised about the role that social excellence may have to solve the current problems of poverty in the region.
