DIN EN 16001 - Energy management systems in practice

The following report comprises a practical guideline that helps companies and organizations to implement energy management in a practical way. The report has been published by the German Federal Agency of the Environment and the Ministry of the Environment and Nuclear Safety and implemented by Adelphi.

These guidelines are intended to support organizations of any type, size and sector in the implementation of energy management systems. It highlights differences and similarities with the European Environmental Management System EMAS in a clear and practice- oriented way, as well as ISO 14001, which forms part of EMAS. The information shows that EMAS certified companies often already meet all the requirements of an energy management system and that an energy management system also provides an excellent basis for the implementation of EMAS.
